,. Mr. and Mrs. DougMatheson 50th anniversary " Doug and Margaret Matheson were recently honored at a dinner and open house to celebrate their 50th wedding an- niversary. They were married on Nov. 29, 1933, in Mon- treal. Their attendants were Bella and Chas. Normoyle. Mr. and Mrs. Math- eson have two daugh- ters, Mrs. Margaret Greenfield, Whitby, Ont, Mrs. Irene Quinn, Belleville, and one son, Donald of Red Deer, Alta. They also have eight grandchildren and two great g r a n d - children. An open house was held in the afternoon at their home where many relatives, friends and neighbors were in atten- dance. Hugh O'Neil presented the couple with a plaque from Premier Bill Davis, Mayor George Zegou ra s b r o u g h t greetings, and the cou- ple received messages of congratulations from Lieutenant Governor John Aird, Governor General Ed Schreyer, Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau and Opposition Leader Brian Mulrone The couple were also recipients of many gifts, flowers and cards. A family dinner was held in their honor in the banquet room of 257 Restaurant. Guests were present from South Lancaster, Whitby, Moose Creek, Toronto, Red Deer, Alta., Oshawa and Kingston.
