There are 13 Real Canadian Superstore locations in Ontario, including three in Ottawa and others in Toronto, Windsor and London, with stores ranging in size from 100,000 to 150,000 square feet. Even though the first Ontario superstore opened in 2003 in Ajax, the company has been successfully operating similar stores in Western Canada since the late 1970s. There are 65 such stores in that part of the country. "We are very pleased with the stores' performance in Ontario and we expect the same thing with Belleville," said Wilson. Wilson said he couldn't comment on the future of the Sean's No Frills store, located just east of the proposed superstore. "I don't have any information on the real estate changes that might be happening because of this," he said. Sean Hibbert, owner of Sean's No Frills, said he doesn't know what it will mean to his business. "All I know is that they acquired the property next door and it's been rumoured for a couple of years that Loblaws had other plans for this market...
