'. - ordained a Priest in the Anglican Church of Canada in St. Georges' Cathedral in Kingston. His previous experience as an active member of Christ Church in Belleville, as a licensed lay reader since 1965 and as an ordained deacon in 1972 led him to be appointed as an Incumbent of the Parish of Marysburgh (Milford and Waupoos). Beginning his services as minister to these communities, he later served at Deseronto and Carrying Place, Tweed and Roslin. When a well-known former Quinte-area priest, the late Father Ken Stitt set up an ecumenical chaplaincy at Belleville General Hospital, he needed volunteers and Fletcher became one of the first volunteers to serve in the hospital's pastoral care program. "When they first started, they were on a shift 4 p.m. to 12 a.m.. Eventually it changed into a daytime shift. But the shifts didn't matter when there was, for example, an accident and the families of those involved needed emotional care. My husband and the other volunteers were there." She thinks her husband lived a full life mostly content when tending to the people in need. "I miss him a lot. We were always together and we always did things together. He was a wonderful man," says Mary7 - a feeling most likely shared by many in the Christ Church community today. i i PHOTOS SUBMITTED Jack Fletcher, 24, fourth from the right in the second row, posed with his friends from the RCAF.
