Over those years, he was heavily involved in the Scouting movement for the Huron District, the second largest Scout- ing district in Quebec. He served as assis- tant district commissioner and then com- missioner for several years. Harlick retired from Pratt and Whitney in 1986. He and his wife, Marie, left Que- bec in 1991 because of the political situa- tion in that province. The couple searched Ontario to find a "pleasant place" to live. "We fell in love with the Quinte area and moved here. We couldn't be happier here." A newspaper ad looking for a Belleville District Scout Council president in 1996 convinced him to return to Scouting, where he's served as council president and, now, acting president. Harlick has managed to get involved with other local groups as well during his decade here. He spent six years as a tutor with the Trenton Adult Day School and sang with the St. George Anglican Church choir until his health forced him to give that up last December. He's a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 110 in Trenton and the Seniors Unlimited Club in Batawa. And what little time he has left, Harlick enjoys model-making, gardening, reading and travelling. He hopes to retire -- again -- from Scouting in a couple of months, "So it's goodbye to 52 years of pleasure d some work!" « Harry Harlick Y\ Aor. KolOO
