Native of Picton^^ joining opera comj I PICTON - Co-founder of the Regent Theatre Foundation, Larry Tayler of Picton has been hired as tour co-ordinator for the Canadian Opera Company Ensemble. Formerly employed as a consultant for the on- tour office of the Ontario Arts Council for Eastern and Central Ontario, he has now moved to Toronto. A native of Prince Edward County, Tayler worked as a theatre arts teacher at Prince Ed- ward Collegiate Institute for several years and also taught for a time in New South Wales, Australia. He is a past executive director of the Quinte Dance Centre in Belleville and has a strong background in little theatre. In 1977, Tayler founded Ladybug Theatre, a touring children's theatre which was a non- profit, charitable group organized to train and employ graduates of the theatre arts program at Prince Edward Collegiate Institute. Tayler also was the co-founder and co-director of the Ouinte Island Theatre group active in Prince Edward several years ago and was direc- tor and organizer of Prince Edward Youth Theatre. In his new job as tour co-ordinator for the Canadian Opera Company, he will promote the opera ensemble in communities and organize its tours. Tayler is the son of Douglas and Rose Tayler of Picton.
