museum Long-time provincial agricultural represen- tative for Hastings County, Douglas Tipper, has been named chair- man of the Ontario Agricultural Museum at Milton. Tipper, who has been involved on the museum board for the past three J years, received his ap- pointment from Min- ister of Agriculture Den- nis Timbrell. The 10 -member board, Tipper explains, usually meets quarter- ly, with occasional special meetings, and makes recommenda- tions to the minister on overall operations of the museum and future developments. Opened in 1979, the museum includes about 35 buildings on an 80- acre site, and the Quinte area farming communi- ty has made an exten- sive input into the pro- ject over the years since it was opened, Tipper says. He strongly recom- mends the museum as a worthwhile trip for residents and school classes. The complex, he says, portrays the full spec- trum of rural life of the past - agriculture methods and imple- ments, domestic and craft skills and utensils.
