I W I CHQ Harry and Helen Twiddy Couple celebrates special anniversary Harry and Helen Twiddy celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Aug. 22, 1983. Their family and friends held a tea in their honor on Aug. 21 at St. Mark's United Church, Cannifton. Harry was born in Madoc and Helen in Can- nifton. They were married by Rev. Farnswcrth at the bride's home, and travelled around Lake Ontario for their honeymoon. They farmed near Belleville and were active in community life. Harry was on the school board and Helen active in church work. Both were in the choir of Can- nifton's St. Mark's Church for 20 years. On retirement, they moved to Belleville where Harry looked after the farmer's market for the city until he was 80 years old, when he retired again. He now looks after himself in his home, at- tends Bridge Street United Church, and takes his wife, who has been a resident of Montgomery Lodge for four years, for a drive each Sunday. They are charter members of the Trent Centennial Trailer Club and camped until they were 80. Their children are Betty and Charles Maybee, Clare and Margaret Twiddy, grandchildren Stephen and Ellen Twiddy, Deborah and Michael Fisher, Karen and Michael Taylor and great grandchildren Lisa and Jason Twiddy. Their flower girl, Margaret Smallhorn, and many relatives and friends attended the recep- tion. Plaques were received from the City of Belleville, provincial and federal governments and Queen Elizabeth.
