G B. Hyde Said Slated For City Job The appointment of ex-Mayor Gerald B. Hyde as city person* nel officer and purchasing agent to fill the position left vacant by the resignation of A. L. Jobey, is expected to be mad'e at the next meeting of city council. Confirmation of the appoint- ment was not available from city officials today but Mr, Hyde told The InitellMgenceip he had been advised his appli- cation for the position had been accepted, Mr. Hyde said he would be resigning his present position as chairman of the Public Ut- ilities Commission, Before assuming his position early next month M&'! Hyde said he would close out the Front Street plumbing business which the family has operated for the past 48 years. Mr. Hyde lia>s been in the busi- ness for 21 years.
