I QPEOPLE MPP Johnson pays tribute to Cecil Insley By Pauline Johnson Thomson News Service TORONTO -- MPP Paul John- son paid homage in the Ontario legislature Monday to well-known Wellington resident Cecil Insley. Insley, 64, who died suddenly on Saturday while out on his char- ter boat, was a "volunteer extraor- dinaire," the Prince Edward-Lennox-South Hastings MPP told his colleagues. Johnson, unable to attend In- sley's funeral today, said it was clear to see why Insley was a re- cipient of the Canada 125 medal last year. "He received that medal be- cause of his extreme sense of com- munity and the voluntarism he showed'for his community," John- son said. "I want to offer my sincere con- dolences to his wife, Fran, his family and friends," he said. Insley worked for many years as a commercial fisherman before starting a boat charter business. He was a Wellington councillor from 1970 to 1972, a volunteer fireman for eight years and Wel- lington fire chief from 1977 to 1979. He was also active with the lo- cal Royal Canadian Legion, he formed a new senior citizens' group in Wellington, and was ac- tive with the local boaters' asso- ciation. He is to be buried today (Tues- day) at Wellington United Church at 2 p.m. I Jay G 3 P. 10
