, i Richard Jefferson ready to play to Former Belleville resident Ri chard Jefferson has special rea son to look for- ward to a band con cert on Saturday, April 3 at 8 p.m. in Bridge Street United Church. Jefferson will not only be play ing to a "home-town audience" but in a building where he spent many hours as a church member and choir member. The concert is part of the an nual series now sponsored by the church called Organ Plus and the band featured will be the well-es tablished Toronto band, of The Royal Regiment of Canada, di rected by Maj. Gino Falconi. Richard's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jefferson, continue to live in Belleville and are among those looking forward to the weekend concert. Jefferson sang in the church choir for several years, and also, while in Belleville and studying trumpet, played with the Eastern Ontario Concert Or- chestra for some years. 'home-town' audience Well-known administrative secretary for the church, Mary-Lynne Morgan, also notes that the band conductor, Fal- coni, has been a long-time friend. Tickets for the concert are now avail- able from the church office at $10, and will also be available at the door on the night of the performance. A blend of traditional brass reper- toire music, both sacred and secular, is expected, plus at least one or more pieces involving Bridge Street musician Wil- liam Maddox at the reconstructed church organ, with the band.
