- Belleville Alderman Selma Bochnek, received a special award at the Belleville Armouries. Members of the Argyll and St. Julien Chapters of the Imperial Order of Daughters of the Empire surprised her with a Good Citizen Award for her efforts, especially concerning her activities as chairman of the Canada Week Committee
