- Roy Bonisteel began his career as a Quinte journalist for the Intelligencer and moved on to work for the Trentonian newspaper. It was during this time, he witnessed a plane crash at the air base and was interviewed about what he saw. Coincidentally a manager at the Belleville radio station was following the interview and heard Bonisteel's voice. He immediately asked Bonisteel to work for him as a broadcaster at the Belleville radio station
