- Betsy Boyce has spent a decade researching one of Quinte's most distinguished individuals, Sir Mackenzie Bowell. She has been trying to restore the bad reputation he developed after his death. She says he doesn't deserve the bad press and that he offered a lot to Belleville as the editor and owner of The Intelligencer, chairman of the Belleville Public School Board, an MP for Hastings North for 25 years, cabinet minister and senator.
