Named after l o n g - t i m e re- porter and city editor for The In- telligencer, the dam will be mark- ed with a com- memorative pla- que before its of- ficial opening Oct. Mulhall 22. Mulhall, who died Nov. 4, 1987, was best known as The Intelligencer's city hall reporter, an institution he covered for nearly two decades before his promotion to city editor in 1983. His dedication to his job and his widespread community involvement included tenure on the authority's public information and education committee. Authority manager Dave King says construction of the ice-control dam -- one of a series being constructed on the Moira -- will be completed in about two weeks. The dam is im- mediately south of Highway 401.
