Killed By A Hornets Nest.

Potter's Hill, Pa, Sept, 19.-Hiram Gooding was raking backwheat in a field on his farm Tuesday last. Suddenly his son, who was at work near by, saw him fall to the ground as though he had been struck with an axe.

Gooding was carried home and a physician called, The physician said the farmer had been stung by a hornet, and the sting had struck a nerve at the base of the brain. Yesterday Gooding became entirely paralyzed, and died in great agony. A similar case is remembered as having occurred in this vicinity in some years ago, when a young man named valentine was the victim. He became blind and was paralyzed for a long time but eventually recovered. Mr. Gooding was 60 years old, and one of the richest men in the neighborhood.
