Homar Greenwood was a Whitby boy who later achieved fame in England and sat as the rnember for the City of York in the Mother of Parliament.s in London. The Hon. John Dryden, Minister of Agriculture at Queen's Park for many years was another pupil and Daniel H. McMillan who was Lieut- Gov. of Manitoba attended here. James Holden, W. E. Wolfenden and James Wallace who were lead- ing executives in big railway cor- porations were other boys who got theiT ea.rly education in Whitby Higli School. Farmers Watch "6jeep" at Work Mobile Power Unit Proves Value In Demonstration At Uxbridge Interested farmers crowded Alex. Mustard's farm, on Concession 6, Scott Township, Tuesday evening Wo watch the Willy's new Universal "Jeep" do a few of its spectacular stitnts. The show started around 6 o'clock and continued until dark. Farmers expressed their deep ad- miration of the marvelous "'mobile power unit" and amazement at the amount of work it could do. The powerful littie "Jeep" drew a 3 furrow plough through a heavy sod' fietd easily and with the same ease dragged a 2 ton one-way dise through similar sod. A spring- tooth cultivator set at the greatest depth was easily drawn through a ploughed field at a speed of 18 miles an hour. Shows Great Speed Quicly changing gear the "Je"was driven over rough ground and deep ditches at 60 miles an houm and showed ne -atrain. In 90 seconds the "Jeep' power unit was attached and it proceeded Wo saw great logs of wood and dig post holes.
