WEE ALL STARS BMU MORRISON # 1 Thi s is Bill's third year in goal for the Pee Wee Ali Stars, andheisoneof the twohold- over s from la st year's team. While not big in size, Bill makes up for this with ability and des- i r e , and i s a good director of traffic in front of h i s net. Bill always seems to be able to come up with thebiggame whenrequired. His goals against average is at present 2. 04 per game. DAN KEMP # 2 Plays left wi ng and is in his best year of Pee W e e . So far th i s year, he has scored 16 goals and 23 assists. Dan is the smallest player on the team, but what he lacks in size is made up for by his des i re and skating ability. In addition to his regular shifts, Danny. is also used to kill penal- tie s, and 4 of his goals have been scoredwhen the other teams have had a man advantage. ALlAN MACDONALD # 3 in final year of Pee Wee. Allan shoots from the right side and has scored 10 goals and earned 19 assists. AI is a hard worker and enjoys the heavy going in the corners. DAVE STOCKS # 5 Dave pI a ys left wing, and while he prefers to play the puck, he is not adverse to laying on the body whenrequired. Dave played for the Brooklin Pee Wee All Stars last year. His scoring record for this year is 13 goals and 16 assists. PAUL BROWN # 6 Paul is another product of Brookl in Minor Hock- ey. Paul plays right defence and is the only first y e ar Pee Wee to make it wi th the Major Pee Wee A I1 Stars. Paul is a fine stick handler and play- m a k e r, and matched by his desire, he should go a long way. To date he has scored 3 goals and 14 assists. JIM PROSSER # 7 Jim' is a right-handed shot and has played at centre, right wing and right defence. In his first year of Pee Wee hockey, he has picked up 9 goals and 10 as si sts. This is Jim's first crack at-All Star hockey, having played previously in the Osh- awa Little N. H. L. KEN REINHARDT # 8 One of the bigger boys on the team. He shoots left and plays either the wing or defence. He has a hard shot and scored 6 goals to go with his 12 assists. Ken is in his final year of Pee Wee. Bll BRIDGE # 9 B il1 I is t h e o t her hold over from last year's Lasco Steeler Pee Wee Ali Stars. He shoots from the right and has scored 33 goals and 28 assists. Bill is a very strong skater and stick handling is his forte. In addition to his regular shift h' i, used on the power play and is also frequerntl/ used to kill penalties. JOEL GANGEMI # 10 Another product of t h Oshawa Little N. H. I Joel i s a valuable member of this years Pee Wee Ali Stars. He has scored 14 goals and assisted on 34. DEAN SEYMOUR # 11 Another small1 player but a strong skater, Dean p I a y s c entre and is another fine penal ty ki lier. Three of his 18 goals have been scored while his teamwasservinga penalty. He has also picked up 19assists. Deanhasbeen in abit of a slump lately, buthecan be expected to break out any time now. JOHN JORDAN # 12 Plays left wing and ias scored 17 goals. John thrives on the heavygoing and is particularly good atdigging thepuckout of the corners. In addition, John isa fine play maker as his 42 assists prove. MARTY GALLAS # 15 Marty is the team captain and his hard-driving n e ve r - give-up style of play is an inspiration to his team mates. His 48 goals and 44 assists are tops for the t eam. Marty plays centre, and his fore checking ability makes him one of the better penalty killers in the league. With his play making and scoring ability he is a natural for the power pI ay. At a recent tournament in Niagara Falls, Marty w a s selected to the tournament "Ali Star" team. DAVE WILLIAMSON # 16 Plays right wing and his points reveal stands at 15 goals and 24 assists. Dave is big and strong and likes a hitting game. He has great desire and is one of the most important players on the team. He is learning to "keep his cool " and by doing so isnotonly helpinghimself but his team. His "boom- in g " shot from the point gives opposition goalies nightmares. MIKE EDWARDS # 17 Mike p I a y s t h e defenc e and shoots from the r i g h t s ide. Mike only has 2 goals and 4 assists bu t has o n ly seen limited action due to a recur- rence of knee injury suffered playing lacrosse last summer. LLOYD CONNOR # 20 Ll1 oyd is in his last year of Pee Wee Hockey. He is the biggest member of the team and is a strong, smooth dkater. One of his eleven goals was scoredwhileplaying aman short. He has also picked up 31 assists. Lloyd plays his regular shift, kills penalties and also plays the power play. At this point it would appear that Lloyd has a future in hockey if he lives up to his potential. JOHN PARISH # 21 Joh n plays go al and is in his second year of Pee Wee. He played last year for the Whitby "Red Bar'n"Minor Pee WeeAll Stars. John is relatively rpv the goal tending game, and is always striving t o i r"i p rove. His 2. 95 goals against average per jaine i aa sign of his hard work and steady play. Fewer-'gtoalcswill be found behind John as he gains confidence and experience. JOE ROWLEY, COACH This is Joe's 3rd year as coach of thePee W'ee Ail Stars since moving to Whitby. He prev- iously lived in Richmond Hill and coached in their H o u s e L eague system. Joe is a strong bel iever in the fundamentals of hockey, is constantly on the look out for coaches clinics to attend to help him improvehis methods. Joe's theory is that a coach m us t be able to show his players what he wants them todo, not tel1 them. While giving an outward appearance ofbeing tough and hard hearted, he is in reality, quite a "softie". ROBERT "DUTCH" MORRISON, MANAGER Th i s is a 1so D utch's 3rd year with the Pee Wee AIl Stars. Before that he was manager of the Osh awa Midget AIl Stars for four years. He can a r r a n g e an ex h ibition hockey game faster than m o s t r e fs can drop a puck, and when travelling out of town, nodetail is overlooked. Dutch is w i d e ly known a n d well liked in hockey circles, andhisrmany contacts make him an ideal manager. Ver y f ew people are aware of exactly how much time and effort Dutchie puts into his duties, but to him it's not work because nothing is too good for his boys. GORD KINZIE, TRAÎNER "Mr. Gord" to the boys. He's in chargeof equip- m e nt, gum, I1inament, bandages etc. , and is also team statistian. He enjoys his duties and is always ready to assist the team as a whole or individual p I a y e r s anyway he can. Gord was previously a c o a c h and a c o n venor in Whi tby Minor Hockey. This is his first year with the Ail Stars. LASCO STEELERS OFF TO QUEBEC! Whitby Lasco Steel All-Stars will be leaving February 8th to take part in the Quebec International Pee Wee Tourna- ment. This will be Whitby's second trip to La Belle Province. Last Vear they end- ed up losing to RichmondHil lin the finals of the "B" section. This year's funds for the trip were raised by a Skat-A-Thon which netted approximately $1, 600. 00. DutchMorrison, Manager, feels this club is better balanced than last year's an d w ith their explosive attack, they should supply superb competition for their section.
