Wh i t b y opened the scoring at the 6:14 mark of the first period when'Ken R e i n h a rdt scored on a backhand shot from the blue line, it was a high shot that eluded the Woodstock goaltender. At the 18:27 mark of the first, W'Jood- stock tied the score on a hard slapshot from just inside the blueline. The shot came from the stick of Jim O'Bright, and had Bill Morrison beat ail the way. Nei ther team was able to score in the second, but Terry liingworth beat Morrison with a close in shot at the 2:15 mark of the third. Bill Bridge tied the score again for Whitby when he batted in a loose puck in a goalmouth scramble just 31 seconds later. Woodstock scored again at 12:06 of the third. This goal was a powerplay goal, and was the re- sult of sloppy play by the Whitby defense in their own end of therink. The Steelers pulled their goalie in the last m i n u t e of play, but failed to get the equalizer. W i th the Whitby net empty, Terry I ii ingworth stole the puck from Dave Williamson at the Whitby blueline and fired the puck into the wide open net at 19:46 to put the game'out of reach. The next game of this series is scheduled for the Woodstock Civic Centre on Thursday March 23 at 8:00 p.m. The third game is also being played in the Woodstock Civic Centre, this game is set for Saturday March 25.
