Monday mnorning will be the open- ing cerernonies at Civie Square. Tuesday, non other than world Driving Champion Jackie Stewart of Scotland wiII be in town. Stewart, who will be driving a Tyreli-Ford in the Grand Prix is probably one of the best known racing drivers in the world and one of the rnost popLilar and publicized athîctes of ýail timie. Earlier this year, Jackie Stewart was sclhe- duled to drive for Teami McLaren in the Can-Anm at Mosport. but had to withidraw fromn the race, and, eventually the Can-Ami series due to a bleed- ing duodenal ulcer. This aliment forced himi to confine his racing activities to Formula 1 Grand Prix racing and prompted conjecture that the Mod Scot would retire from racing at the end of thie season. But he recently squelched the rumours by announcing that he would definitely return to racing for at least next year. One of the major features of Autofest week '72 is the Miss Autofest Beauty Pageant to be held at the Civie Auditorium on Wednesday, Sep- tember 2Oth at 8 p.m. The pageant will feature beauty queens that have already been chosen by their respective groups iin the city. Some seven- teen contestants from local eihnic groups are ex- pected to appear in an extravaganza that will uise a raised walk-on stage sixty feet long. Music will be supplied by the 'Par 4', followed by a dance. Thursday will be the ever popular Police Association Variety Nighit featu ring stars of stage, radio and television. The eighit schedLîled acts iin- clude magicians, vocalists, trick rope acts and gen- eral fun for the whole family.
