The loss left the Tiremen in 9th place ini league standings, 2 points behind the Picke ring Club who hold the 8th and fmnal play-off spot. The Whitby club traled 5-0 at the end of the first period, as the Panthers came on quite strong in the opening minutes. Bruce Crouch started in goal for the Tiremen but took hîmself out of the gaine at 12:56 of the opening period as the visitors put 4 shots by him while managing only 6 shots. Kim Crouch took his place between the pipes for the balance of the gaine and was beaten 6 times on 44 shots.
