Our p)rayer today is LORD, MAKE CALVARY REAL TO M F May iliat scene pierce our hecaris as it pierced Mary's, as she iooked up to tlie Cross and saw the Saviour of Mankind dying because of* your sins and ni mne. Yes up to this time. Jesus lad been lier son. Fier boy whoni slhe would take to Ille village market to boy the pro. visions that werc needed. Hand in hand they wouid go, now the hiands were outstretched uipon the cross. Pointing east and west, ïnviting alnmen to comne and find rest, peace and etrnL ,,~.Thie invitation, is given ut 4 .Wo'n't you corne. Corne a uitile closer, you have wo corne close if yen wanî wo hear what Jesus is saying. USuiaily when people are dying you have to bend your liead close to lhear what they are saying. The words of dying people are words of importance. As Mary and Johin stood by the cross they hiad to listen very carefuiîy because there were those people who were passing by. The chief priests were niocking Humi. The scribes and eiders-rejoice hecause Fie could not save Himiself. Oh how they lauigh at Hinm. The soldiers talking so lotid as they gamible beside the cross. Above the noise and the pain in His body, He notices Fils mother and John standing beneath the cross. It would seemn that He niustn't forget something. Yes, now 1 know. The commrandmnent of Moses. 'Honour thy father and thy mother that thy days rnay be long upon the land which 1 the Lord thy God giveth thee'. It would be a good thing if miany of oLir young people would reiernber this comirnand- mient and obey their parents. But again 1 tell you a better thing. It's too bad that there are not more mothers and fathers found near the cross. Then they would find that their children would be there t 00. 1 believe that there m-ust have been a beautiful relation- ship between Jesus and Mary, His mother. In their home they would read the scriptures and on the Sabbath go to the temple. Now Jesus secs His Mother, lookirig at lier and JohinFie says; "Womien behold thy Son. Behold thy Mother". This was the time when ail family retationships- had been broken between themi. Mary was now a simple be- liever and Jesus was her Saviour. As Mary stood at the feet of Jesus, broken hearted, she realized the prophesies of old were fuilfilled. lsaiah tells how Jesus, the Son of God, would be a "Man of sorrows acquainted with grief; He was to be despised and rejected by mnan." The disciples, including Peter who hiad so strongly said lie loved Jesus, had forsaken Him, and fled. Was there ever a time in your life when you gave your heart and life to God. You promnised to serve Hlmi and love Himi. But now, what of that vow? This Easter season is a good timie for a new beginîîîng. Easter is the sign of "New Birth". Make it a reality within your heart and have a "new Birth" experience throughi Jesus Christ our Saviour. Jesus remnembered Mary. while on the Cross. He remiem- bered you and 1 as He wiHiîngly gave His life to redeemi us fromi our Sins. May this Easter timie find you saying. "Yes He lives. Jesus lives and ie lives in My hecart" May this be a Holy Day and not a holiday. I.
