If - SPORTORIAL J byy DOUGWMA LES 1 New Exocutives for Brooklin i Whitby Minor Hockey Association, On Sunday, April 29, the Brooklin-Whitby Minor Hoc- key Association held its gen- eral meeting in the Council Chambers to introduce the new executive to those in attendance, and to dîscuss the past season. The new executive meml- bers are: President - John Chaszewski; Isi Vice-Presi- dent - John Fleming; 2nd Vice-President -Fred Wolff, Treasurer - Harold Eaton; Ice Schieduler - Doug Llnder- wood. Also at this mneeting were the nominations and election of the eight directors of the Brooklin-Whiîby Minor Hoc- key Association. The eigit directors are: Bill Edwards, Lew Fields, Mrs. Nieuwen- dyk, Ron MacCarî, Mrs. Par- ish, Gerry Ravary, Dick San- drelli and Doug Weales. REDMEN WIN EXHIBITION OPENER The Brooklin R ed me n opened their Ontario L-acrosse Association exhibition sche- dule with a convincing 21-12 win over the visiîing Oshawa Green GaeI Junliors in the Brooklin Arena on Saturday evening. Tomi Vann, on boan to the Redmien fromi Windsor was the shooter, as hie picked up five goals and three assists to Iead the winnets. Newcomier Wayne Finik froni Halifax fired four goals, and added one assist. Othier goalscorers for the Redmen were Larry Lloyd, Dave Mos- ier anid Ken Dowin with îwo goals eachi with sinigle markers going to Doug Milne, Dave Houston, Elmier Tran, Cami Dunbar, John Cuthbert and Larry Haight. Goaltender Pat Kelly of the Brooklin Redmen picked up four assists in tlhe gamie. The Redinen led 5-4 ai ilhe end of' the first period. I18-8 at tlhe end of' the second, and addcd three more to round out the scoring ini the third _period. BIG MACIS 0F 1972/73 SEASON The Brooklin-Whitby Mc- Donalds Minor Bantam AIl- Stars officialîy ended their 1972/73 season on Sunday, April 29/73 with the presen- tation of trophies at the ban- quet hield at the Heydenshore Pavilion. Most Valuable Player Award went to teain captain Lloyd Connor. The Sports- manship and Ability Award went to John Jordan, while Marty Gallas walked off with the High Scoring Award. The Big Mac's had a record of 42 wins, 21 losses and 4 tics for the season, and the conibination of Bill Morrison and Robert Phillips in the nets for the Big Mac's recorded the lowest goals against average in tlhe entire league. These two young puckstoppers recorded- I11 shut-outs during the sea- soni. In the five tournamnents entercd, the Big Mac's won the Guelphi Tournanient, wcre finalisis in the Port Pcrry tournanient and won ai least one garne ini the remainder. Deani Scymour received a gold miedal and Dan Kenip a silver miedal in the Buckinghamn, Quiebec, toturrey. The îeam vas coached by Mr. Bob Slearer,nmanaged by Dan Kemp, and trained by Mr. Bill Robertson who also kept the team stats. Management of the team wish to thank the parents for their support throughout the, year. HOCKEY BANQUET The Ladies Auxiliary of the Brooklin-Whitby M i n o r Hockey Association put on a chicken dinner for the second haîf of the minor hockey tearns during the past week- end at the Heydenshore Pavil. ion. Trophies were presented to teams and individual play- ers for their efforts during the season. Trophies were presented to the following teams or play- ers, Scjuirt League Champions - Wrens- Brooklin-Whitby Mi- nor Hockey Association "A" Trophy. Play-off Champions - Gulls - Brooklin Ladies Auxiliary "B" Trophy. "B" Consolation winners were the Larks, while the "C"' Con- solation went to the Sparrows. Mites: League Champions - C.B. Foster & Son - Cana dian Order of Foresters Trophy. Play-off Winners: C.B. Foster & Son - Castle Hosiery Tro- phy. "B" Winners: McTeague Electric.
