Whitby Poliose Now Un One Building Looking for the Police Office to pay that pesky parking ticket? It is not in the Municipal Building any longer. AIl Police Departments that have been scattered in various accommodations throughout the Town have moved under one roof. 'ilat is right folks; the Whitby Police Force is now located in its own brand new building. The police dispatcher formerely operating out of the Whitby Fire Hall is now operating from the Police building on Rossland Road. The Detectives' offices are now in the new Police Building instead of operating out of the annex of the Coîborne Street School. This annex formerly served as the Home Economics Department of the Whitby High Sehool when the curriculum enlarged and a Home Economics Department was needed for the School Board purchased the dwelling bouse for school purposes. The High School enlarged and moved to new quarters in tbe Henry Street High and the annex was used by the School Board for storage space then it became part of the Coîborne Street Senior School. As the need for more classroom space was reduced with the construction of the Garden Street Senior Schoql the Town rented the house for office space for the detectives as there was no room for them in the Whitby Municipal Building. With the coming of the bot midsummer months the Police can work in less crowded conditions than in former years. The fast growing Town of Whitby has created a demand for an enlarged Police Force wbich in turn created the dernand for the new Whitby Police Building. Workmen are still puttîng the finishing touches to the building and landscaping is in progress. CAN 1DB SERVE YOU? On Tuesday July 1 7thi one of our.representatives Mr. J. 1.
