Tant, 19, formerly of Scarborough, now of RR1 Queensdale, York County, and Edward Dennis Myers, 19, of 122 Edwards Street, Stouffville, appeared in Whitby Court for sentence on six charges of break, enter and theft they learned they had to make restitution for the unrecovered goods that had been stolen. Due to the fact that Mr. Tant is single he was ordered to make restitution on his portion of theft totalling a value of $2,588.45, by paying $100. a month until complete restitution is made. The passing of sentence was suspended for 12 months on the condition that both teen - agers report to the Probation Officer once a month. Mr. Tant is 'bound to stay in York County, live at home and not move from that address or from his present job without permission from the Probation Officer. Mr. Myers is married and has a child. Because he has a family he must pay $75. per month until the last three months when the rate per month must be increased so the entire amount of restitution is completely paid. You have got a lot of responsibilities, you must see to it," Provincial Court Judge H.W. Jermyn said. Mr. Myers is to observe similar probation stipulations as set out for Mr. Tant. The break, enter and thefts ranged from summer cottages in Uxbridge Township with the theft of a television set valued at $562. along with a rifle. Some of the goods was recovered to Club houses. As he passed sentence Provincial Court Judge Jermyn saud "it a serious matter when two young people go on a rampage over a period of two months. In most courts it would be a jail term but you are both working and you both have indicated that you are willing to make restitution and. this is being taken into consideration." @zmý
