Ga.yy Roberts got two goals with singles going to Paul Neurnan, Richie Thompson, and Martin VanKessel. Scoring for the Markhamn Club, Allan Tiggert with two and Jeff Harding getting one. BROOKLIN WHITBY WHITBY CYCLE & SPORTS MINOR ATOMS played three gaines ini which they went down to a 2 - O defeat at the hands of the Bay Ridges teani at the Don Beer Arena. In the second gamne at the Brook- lin Arena they lost to Cobourg by a 3 - 1 score with Paul Rich getting the lone B.W. goal. île third game they won by trounlcing Uxbridge by a 8 - O score. BROOKLIN WHITBY MAJOR ATOMS BROOKLIN CONCRETE played two gaines back to back against Port Hope. The Brooklin Concrete Boys gave the Port Hope Club double upset as they beat them 7 - 1 in Port Hope and 10 - 1 iii the Brookliin Arena. Scorers ini these two gaines were David Blacquiere with three, John Fusco three, Billy Easdale three, John Ellis two, Bobby Middleton two, Jeff Tamblyn and Todd Chasczewski getting singles. Warren Smith also picked up two goals. BROOKLIN WHITBY CONSOLIDATED BUILDINGý CORPORATION MAJOR MIDGETS got their first taste of defeat in League Action, and were given a lesson in desire F by their rivais from Cobourg who, although outplayed two periods, defeated them by a score of 5 - 4. After two per- iods of play the gamne was tied two ail on goals by Tim Brown and Jim DeMilI for B.W. and Don Davidson and Steve Witteveen for Cobourg. In the third period, the home- town boys, with a few exceptions, appeared to tbink they could win the gamne single handed on their own stellar play. Thiey forgot that hockey is a team game, not a game played by individuals. When they played as a team they dominated the gamne but when playing as individuals they looked like a bunch of lost sheep, running hither and yon ail over the ice. Doug Grant and his rink took hiome the S2,000. first place money and the Dunlop Cup. Local Man Wins Top Lacrosso Award Bryan Davies of Whitby was presented with the "Mr. Lacrosse" award at the Ontario Lacrosse Association Ann- ual Convention held recently in Oshawa. This award is given for outstanding contributions to the game of lacrosse. Mr. Davies is presently serving as I st Vice-President of the Ontario Minor Lacrosse Association and bas served as President of the Whitby Minor Lacrosse Association and Secretary-Registrar of the Ontario Minor Lacrosse Associa- tion. He was Chairman of the very successful National Pee Wee Tournament held last summier in Ajax, Whitby and Oshawa. Mr. Davies was %varmnly congratulated by ail the delegates to the convention. Among other winners of this award, have been Jim Bishop of Oshawa and the current President of the Ontario Minor Lacrosse Association, R.W.
