Gord Forrester who 0 lias been involved with Whitby' basebaîl for seveai years is going to guide Whitby's entry in the E.O.B.A. Midget series in the 74 season. Forrester has had coaching exper- ience in past seasons in the W.M.B.A. Pee-Wee House League and also worked with the Canadian Tire Midget club. He has also held down a post on the W.M.B.A. umpiring staff, but this year will mark his first attempt at coaching solo at the E.O.B.A. level. He is going to put his charges through their first workout Wednesday at the Anderson Collegiate gym from 7 until 8 and ail boys of midget age who would like a shot at making the club are asked to corne out. Tyke and Pee-Wee clubs are going f0 loosen up the same night beginning at 6 o'clock and boys in these age groups who would like to try for a berth on these teams are welconie. The Lasco Steelers who were the first to start indoor workouts three weeks ago also becaine the first club to get outdoors .with a session on the weekendat the E.A. Fairman diamond. The Steelers also welcome any boys for tryouts and are asked to contact Coach Gary Steane or Bob Shearer for practice times. Umpire-In-Chief Bill Lînk is looking for officiais, and volunteers to help out in both House League and E.O.B.A. gantes which are urgently required. A programme involving 600 boys requires a small army of interested helpers f0 assist in coaching, urnpiring and looking after the moun- tain of detail necessary f0 make the organization function.
