Richard Dwyer, Director of Skating Personnel, Bob and Helen Maxson, Directors of Choreography and ;Staging, and President Tom Scallen plus a host of teaching professionals are always iooking for skaters who are headed for stardom. This year they have added a quartet of bright newcomers to an ail-star cast. The four new skaters are Daria Prychun, a Canadian beauty from Winnipeg, Manitoba; Jackie Davis, a Greek- Polynesian from Seattie, Washington; and the youthfui pair of Don Bonacci and Cathy Mishkin. 1Ail four wil be presented in the all-new 1975 Ice Follies coming to Maple Leaf Gardens from Tuesday, January 14, thru Sunday, January 26th. Daria Prychun was headed for leadership in Canadian womnen's figure skating when she deserted the amateur ranks to join the Ice Follies. Scouted by Bob and Helen Maxson, Daria decided shie wanted the life of a show skater instead of reaching for further amateur honors. Amateur skaîing's loss was Ice Foulies' gain. In addition to being a fine, solo performer, Daria is also an adept pair skater and will be paired'in tie famed 'Swing Waltz". Jackie Davis is a product of Seattle, Washington's amateuir skating clubs. Hc outgrew, the competition thiere and went to Vancouver and Victoria, British Columnbia for îtoughier competition and advanced coachiing. He is a mnaster of daring leaps, triple revolutions anid spins. A brighit fuiture is predicted for this' taîl and slender young man, who lias a skating st'1e ail biis own. Don Bonacci and Ca thy Mishkin have been skating part- ners for five years. They had definite polentiai when dis- covered by the Ice Foulies scouts. Natural abiity and expert coaching have deveioped the young skaters into a smnoothiy polishied pair. Their lifts, death spirais, and other maneuvers which defy gravity make their performance not only eiçciting but extremely dangerous. Nearly 500 entries were personally delivered by Whitby youngsters to Wliitby Mall merchants. The cc mpetitors ranged in age from three to twelve. Difficuit as it was, Mr. Thompson came up with three winners.
