This was donc because the physician on duty may not always be familiar with management rules, hospital policies and procedures as his duty is to provide medicai services. The hospital has taken a further stcp to implement this systcm. The hospital wil now have a senior administra- tor and a psychiatrist on call. The advice of Uic psychia- trist, thc duty doctor or thc senior administrutor niay be necdcd before a dccision can be made. Thc institution of the caîl systern provides a consulting service to th c nursing staff member whio mighit have to decide whethcr ail requirernents for admis- sion have been met. The hospital has had a psychiatrist on caîl since 1969. The hope of hospital administrators is that Uice new structure will improve the prograrns and their objectives. The purpose is to support the senior nurse on duty to whom the problcms are rclated. The OHS directors hope, that by providing more spaci- ous facilities for this annual meeting, to accomodate all the residents who h ave indicated a strong intcrcst in the affairs of the OHS during the Iast ycar.
