Since (lien it lias helped to finance more than 5,100 projects_ across the country to the enables retired people to create projects of their own choosing. t offers grants to groups of retired people who* wilI undertake activities for the benefit of themselves and' othiers in their .community. The accent is on local needs as seen by older people, and on their willingness (o meet such needs. The ideas for projects criginate from individuals or groups.
