PAGE 6, WEDNESDAy, MAY 119, 1976, WHITBY FREE PRESS Br~k1lin ~ B ines Whitby Senior Scliool presented Tomn Sawyer last 'week to capacity biouses oni Wed. ind Thiurs. niglits. The excellence of their performiances fully justified the standing ovations received both evenings. Costumies, miusic and scenery werc ahl very good. A squad of skeletons sent dlown amiotgst the audience during an appropriate graveyard scene was miost effective ini stirring up the audience. Many local childreo were involved in various aspects of thîs production and it xvas obvious that a great amnount of energy and liard work went loto it. Special thanks go to those teachers who hieîped. Congratuilations kids, you were great! The only jarring note, quite literally, for me, was the trip clown f0 and back fromn Whitby aîong Anderson Road The section between Taunton and Rossland was especially bad; in places aîmost the entire widthi of the road is full of very large, very deep potholes. This concerns nie particular- ly because Anderson Road is part of the school bus route. Many youngsters from this area have to go aloîîg there twice a day to attend sclhool. Surely the repair of th1.- road must be on someone's lisi of 'jobs to be clone in the near future'. Let us hope that it is near the top of thiat list!.
