"Some of the things I plan on doing are looking at the future of the organzation locally, establishing the direc- tion for the local branch to follow, and establishing a long range plan of action which hopefully will accomplish some of the things we have failed to do in the past", he says. MIKE BURGESS Mr. Burgess plans to cal a directors' meeting in thepear future to get input fron he -board members and ôthåi interested people to start planning the program for the 1976-77 year. "I would like to thank Bill Pilkington for the excellent job he has done as president over the last couple of years, and I'm sorry to see him leave the area because his absence will be a loss to the local branch", said Mr. Burgess. This week he will be nominated at the annual general meeting of the Ontario Humane Society for a seat on the board of directors of the provincial organization. Jaycee car rally June 27 1h e Wfutby Jaycees will be holding their first annual June Junk-it, a "fun type car rally", June 27, starting at Iroquois Park and finishing at Fantasyland Park on Highway 12. The rally will be about 68 miles and two hours in duration. Registration will be at 10 a.m., briefing at 10:30 a.m. and the first car leaves at 11:01 a.m. The rally will be followed by a family picnic organized by the Whitby Jaycettes. Liberals meet at Kingston James Farquhar, President of the Durhan West Liberal Association, will attend the party's 'organizational work- shop in Kingston on May 29. Representatives from 31 provincial ridings, three districts and 12 Young Liberal organizations in eastern Ontario will be con- sidering how to organize regional* policy workshops, expected to take place early next fall. Under the party's provin- cial leader, Stuart Smith, major policy workshops will be held across the province before November. It is expected that local riding associations will hold preli- minary policy sessions before September 15. Regîinal vice-president Tom Troughton expects 75 to attend the May 29 workshop.
