Thursday and Friday jevenings saw good crowds at the arena and fairgrounds. On *Saturday, people from miles around joined local residents to share in the fun. There was so much to see, so much to do, the only problemn was deciding what to see or do first. Ail scheduled events were well attended: The Spring Fair Parade, ably organized by Group '74, featured several interesting floats.. It was obvious that a lot of work had gone into the construction of these and the Olympic Theme of the parade was evident. To those groups whose creation won a prize - congratulations! Group '74's entry won for being most representative of the theme': the Olympîcs. The Most Humourous mas a private float, Little Miss Muffet, with Jeffrey Hunter and Kelly Wright. The Durham Trail Riders were judged to have the Most Beautiful float, and the Most Original was built by the Brooklin Guides and Brownies. The Cubs and Scouts were given a Special Menit award. Group '74 extends its thanks to-ail who participated. Inside the arena were throngs of people, excited -,hildren, numerous exhibits and an especially beautiful Flower Show. The Brooklin Branch Library featured a giant cluster of pink hydrogen-filled balloons which they gave away to nearby chlldren. Somehow, these balloons were symbolic of the boyant spirits which prevailed everywhere. The Kinsmen's Beertent offered Country and Western inusic by local talent which added grçatly to its popularity as a good place to sit down and relax. The dance on Saturday night at the arena was a tremendous success. Miss Leslie Everett, Miss Brooklin Spring Pair, was present and added both beauty and charm- to the event. The Pair Board, Group '74 and ail of those who contributed to this annual celebration should be congratulated for the excellent job done. I don't see how we could beat this year's fair; we can only hope that next year's will be as good. This Friday, June 11 th, the 2nd Brooklin Brownies wil visit the Toronto Zoo. The pack will leave early, 9:00 a.m., from Meadowcrest Public School and are flot expected back until 3:30 p.m. Hope you have a great time girls! Newly forming athietie tearns require the support of adults who can determine the necessary steps to be taken, these girls can't maniage ail of this by themiselves.
