The flowers are beautiful and they prov- ide a nice splasli of colour. The Brooklin Horticultural Society should be Commen- ded for the fine work thcy do toward civie improvernent. They have planted beautiful displays and flower beds thr- oughout our town. Some of their flower s and shrubs can be seen at Grass' Park in the heart "of town, at Brooklin Memorial Arena, at the Post Office and tie library. Ail of this work is attractive and has a professional to- uch. But the hanging planters that grace our main street are something special. Great care-is taken that the flowers are kept well-watered and healthy. We thank you Brooklin Horticultural Society, we appreciate how busy an organ- ization you are and yet you alwàys seemi to find trne to offer something of beauty for the enjoyment of the rest of the town. Although there is probably a deadline date for regis.t- ration in the 'Y" sumimer camps, it may flot be too late to enroîl your children in the latter camp periods. If youi live here ini Brooklin, bus service is available. The 'Y' is involved in a program to hielp you find a stui- dent willing to do various jobs around your place thiis sum- mer. There are lots of reliable kids available and they have both the tume and the energy you may be iacking. Don't put' off that cieaning, fixing, painting job any longer! Your local public library in Brooklin will be involved in the "Library in the Park" programn again this summner. As in the past, the library will have a wide variety of child- ren's books available that the children may borrow. In co-operation withthe Whitby Recreation Departnient the ibrary will work with the playground. leaders in prov- iding creative drama sessions to area youngsters who attend the piaygrouind programs. Frcsh and interesting techniques- wiil be used to acquaint the children with the art of panto- mime. Older chiidren wiil be encouraged to practice their own improvisations. The library will visit each of the four local parks: Brooklin, Ashburn, Myrtle-and Spenc er, three times. Each successive visit will see the group progressing fromn simple mime gestures which register emiotions to mo- re advanced gamnes and group skits. Sounds like great fun! WEIJ.
