Police reported that the stoleri car swerved into a ditch and twice sides - wiped a second police cruiser driven by Const. Gordon Respond. Three cruisers took up the chase west along Highway 40 1. Const. Fletcher moved in front of the stolen car to try to slow the chase and was rammed twice, police said. The cruiser was sent into a skid and sheered off a hydro pole. The cruiser was wrecked but Const. Fletcher received no serious injuries, police said. Cliarged with criminal negligénce, possession of stolen property, and breaking and entering, is Peter Kenneth Lauber, 17, of 1137 Brock St. S. Whitby.
