This major County Town Carnival event begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Heydenshore The special attraction of the evening will be entertain- ment by two well-knoxvn Canadian performers Dinahi Christie and Tom Kneebone. This is the first timne that such high calibre entertain- ment has been offered at a Peter Perry Award night in Whitby. The first haif of the show begins at 8:30 p.m. and will be followed at 9:15 p.mn. by the presentationi of the Peter Perry Award. Fromi 9:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. wilI be the second hall' of the entertain- ment, followed by dancing tilt 1 a.m. At midnight there will be a buffet style luincheon. Flower show July 30 & .31 The Brooklin 1-orticultural Society's annual County Town Carnival Flower Show is' moving to the riew municipal building on Ross- land Road thisyear. Entries fromn any resident of the Durham Region will be accepted from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 30, and public viewing will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. July 30 and 10Oa.m. to 4 p.m. July 3 1. The flower show is a popular carnival event, and its patrons are reminded of the change of location. 'n addition to the flower show, there will be a craft and hobby f'air aI the municipal building, sponsored by the West Lynde Community Association. Hobby fair- to be at town hall The West Lynde Commun- ity Association is offering a craft and hobby fair at this year's County Town Carnival. The craft and hobby f'air will be held at the new municipal building on Ross- land Road, with itemis to coincide with the Brooklin Horticultural Society's» flower show. The f'air will be open to the public from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. July 30 and noon to 6 p.m. July 31. Any person wishing to submit any craft or hobby work may phone 668-9691 prior to July 29 to arrange to be included in the show. Flower arranging demon- strations will be conducted each day at the Brooklin Horticultural Souiety Booth, supplied through the courtesy of Andrew Antenna Co. LAS VEGAS COMES TO WIHTBY Saturday night is Las Vegas Nigbt at the Whitby Arts Station, and these members of the committee responsible for the event are getting into the rnood early. Pancake breakfast is July 31 One of the County Town Carnival's miost popular events, the Rotary Club pancake breakfast, will be held again this year, at Heydenshore Park, July 31, starting at 8 a.m. Picnic tables will be set up at Heydenshiore Pavilion, where pancakes, syrup, coffee, tea, or milk will be served.
