One exhibition game'Jan. 22 pitted Koke Sheil of the Atom House L.eagueagainst, the OPSEU Warriors which are Novice Ail Stars. Koke Sheli won the game 6-4 with two goals by Gary Marksand one each by Brian Lees, Mike Cheravaty, Scott Helmer and Jeff Page. Goals were scored for the Warriors by Robert McCullough, Blair Phiipsand Stuart Holter. 1MINOR ATOM Jan. 22 atBrooklin Arena, Brooklin Concrete ýdefeated Belleville 5-3 in an exhibition game, with two goals by Greg Roberts and oneeachbyBilly O'Meara, Glen Sacl'ko, and' Greg Genereox. MAJOR ATOM Jan. 22 at, Brooklin Arena, Brooklin Home Bakery edged Cobourg 5-4 with goals by Rodney. Newhook, David McWhirter, Tom Clark and Steven Vanderburgt. .MINOR BANTAM Jan. 22 at Lindsay, the Optimist Beavers defeated Lindsay 4-1 with goals by Derek R-otyluk, Danny Garrard, .Kelly Dzikewich and Paul Rich. MAJOR BANTAM In a Round Robin game Jan. 21 at Iroquois Park, County Town Fuels trounced Bay Ridges 9-2 with three goals by John Fusco, two each by Billy Eyre and Warren Subject,' and one each by Stu Catteral and'Jolut Ellis. MINOR MIDGET Jan. 18 at Oakwood Arena the Commerce- Capitals trounced Lindsay 7-1 with goals by Todd Cotton, Peter Pipher, Scott Bremmer, Ron Burns, Darryl Blacquiere Steve Gallagher and G.reg Rich. With il wins, four lossès and three ties, the Capitals should be good e- nough for second place in the league' behind Bay Ridges. In an exhibition game at Iroquois Park, the Commerce Capitlas edged Oshawa 4-3 with three goals by Charlie Meitner and one by Steve Gallagher. PEE WEE NO. 2 Jan. 24 at Brooklinf Arena, Mercury Auto Bodiy shut out Bowmanville 9-O with two goals each -by Tomi Platt and Warren Ells, and one each by Chis- Williams, Steve Williams, Glen Butler, David Gallagher and Gary Chasczew- ski., MAJOR PEE WEE Jan. 21 at Peterborough, the LASCO Steelers shut out. Peterborough 12-O with three goals each by Brian Pratt and Paul Neuman, and one each, by John Byberg, Terry Depuis, Peter Kozyriackyj, and Brian Hunter. Andre Cadieux got two goals and four assists. Goalies Bob Rints and Kurt Mitchell got the shut-out. This final, léague game clinched first place in the league standings for the Steelers. with 16 wins, two losses and two ties. Five wins were by shut-outs. In an exhibition game Jan. 21 'at Brooklin, t*he Steelers edged Thornhill 8-7 wvith five goals by Andre Cadieux, two bv Paul Neuman and one bv Jeff Han *ley. Early in the second period Thornhill had been leading 5-O. MINOR PEE WEE> Jan. 22 at Brooklin, the Ladies' Auxiliary team de- feated Peterborough 4-2 with two goals, byJoeyMcCullough and 'one each by Gary Roberts and Joey Nieuwen- dyk. In an exhibition game, at Iroquois Park, the Ladies' Auxiliary team edged Oshawa 5-4 with two goals each by Gary Roberts' and 'Joey Nieuwendyk and one by Dave Sachko. Beavers beaten The Brooklin-Whitby Optimist Beavers did not fare too well in a Minor Bantam hockey tournament 'held at Owen Sound Jan. 21. The Beavers won theirfirst game, against Woodstock,4-2 with goals by Derek Kotyluk, Charlie Mason, Danny Garrard and Kelly Dzikewich. In the second galne, the Beavers were defeated 3-1 by' Owen Sound, with Derek Kotyluk getting the only Whitby goal. Owen Sound, won the tournament, by defeating Midland in the finals.
