Public relations projects included a poster and craft display in March at a down- town bank, a booth at the Chamber of Commerce trade fair, a booth at the social services display at the Oshawa Shopping Centre, the India Cyclone Relief Fund, and advertising for the AID craft sale in Uxbridge in December. In 1977, the Whitby Red Cross branch had 110 memn- bers, many of whons were active i women's work and the blood donor clinics. The homnemaker program suffered a deficit of $1 ,800 which will be madd up from United WaY funds. There was a considerable. increase ini days of service and eight new homemakers were hired to meet this demand. The work of the Red Cross was presented in an experimental programn to Grade 6 students at Kathleen Rowe School, and presenta- tion were made to 85 teachers on Professional Development Days. Seven Whitby schools par- ticipated in the India Cyclone Relief Fund which resulted in donations of $150-92 by five public schools, and $200 from Henry Street High School.
