New Office space for ýWhtby Jail Wýhitby's overcrowded jail is gettîng some relief at last, altbough it is the administra- tive staff and not the prisoners who will benef it. Construction is nearing completion on a temporar frame addition at the front of the jail which will house the overflow of staff. A portable storage facility is also to be added. Work is also proceeding on finishing a new roof on the jail. An expansion to the jail bas been recommended, but is be- mng held up by government financial restraints. Twice the Public Institu- tions Inspection Panel )whicb replaced the old grand jury systemn( bas asked that more administrative space be pro- vided, and the current work is attempting to alleviate this problem.
