Bowmanville, a new team gave Whitby a good game in the first haif, but the Whitby positional play and team work paid off in the second for a decisive win. JUNIOR May 7 at Peel Park the Toronto Spartans defeated Whitby Ferrco Engineering 3-1, with John Longmuir get- ting the only Whitby goal. The Spartans led 3-0 at the end of the first haif, but Whitby started to come-back in the second which was flot quite enough to even up the game. The game got off to a slow start but after Whity got the first goal they started to put things together. Cobourg had a few good players but lacked the pas- sing game to make a good showing. The final score was determined by the end of the first half, and there was no scoring in the second. JUNIOR May 15 at Peel Park, Ferrco Engineering edged the Oshawa Falcons 2-1 with both goals by Alistair Clark. Whitby dominated the first haîf, which ended in a 1-1 tie, but Oshawa seemed stronger in the second half.
