Mr. I.*vingstone came to fame when ýe won a gold medal Ina -Piping competi- tion at Inverness, Scotland last year. The record, produced by an Oshawa company, is called "Bill Livingstone, Gold Medalist," and features such old time favorites as Alan MacPherson of Moss Park, the Hen's March, and the Lament for the Viscount of Dundee. Some tunes on the record were composed by Mr. Livingstone himself. The producers of- the record are planning for world-wide distribution. One of the songs was recorded on two tracks which allows Mr. Living- stone to play harrnoney with bimself. As far as he knows, he is the first piper to do such a performance on a record album. CANADA'YWEEK FILMS June 26 and 28 there will be a series of Canada Week films at the Whitby Public Library, starting at 7 p.m. each night. The films will feature the landscape paint- ings of the Group of Seven, and analysis of the Canadian character, a trip of the Trans-Canada Highway through Alberta and British Columbia, and the history of the Niagara River country from 1767 to 1867.
