Green Pepper Club replIaces town 's playground program for young people 3 to il, The Whitby Recreation Department and the Durham Region Family YMCA *are pleased to announce the opening of àan exclusive new social club this summer. The Green* Pepper Club is designed for the young people aged 3 to il years. The purchase of a member- ship entitles the child to attend on whatever days are suitable for themselves. The Green Pepper Prè-School Program for children 3 to 5 years old, will operate froin 9:30 to 11:30 every week day morning. The activities will include imaginary play, painting, creative crafts, music, out- door physical activity and more. Story time will be accompanied by juice and a snack. The School Age P rogram for those 6 to il years old, will be held from 1: 15 to 3:15 every we ek day afternoon. The first hour will involve outdoor and indoor sport activities, including organ- ized gaines, basic gymnast- ics, floor hockey, track and field and basebaîl, to name a few. During the second hQur the children will participate in creative craf t activities. The Green' Pepper Club will operate at four different locations about Whitby. AUl Saints Anglican Church will operate in the mornings only for the Pre-schoolers and Palmerston Street School will operate for the School Age children* only in the afternoonts. Florence M. Heard Sehool and Meadow- crest School in Brooklin will operate both the Pre-School and the Sehool Age programs. The opening date of the club is July 4 and membership is good until July 28. Member- ships can also be obtained for the month of' August (July 31 - August 25). They are available now, but don't wait too long, as there are only a limited number avail,- able, and they are going fast. This one'hour, two charac- ter play was directed by Bert Heaver of Whitby, who also plays a small walk on at the end of the performance. "The view from the 64th Floor", is a mixture of comedy and pathos with a touch of philosophy for those who crave success. Tuesday June 27 will see the airing of the Dundas Little -Theatre production of "A lIistory of Near Fatal Crashes". This zany comedy about two zany- comedy writers is by William Edith Jr. and, Andrew Nicholîs. Both these characters write for Channel 1's comedy show "We're Only Joking"I which did well in the ratings last year for a new Canadian, series and thé program is in production at present for yet another season. Members of the Dundas Little Theatre performing in this bizarre escapade are:' Bernie McDermott and Mike ruddick as the writers, John Marshall plays a chimney- sweep with the unlikely name of Eston Roadmap Jr. and Linda Geary is seen'as the lady from the fruit punch company. The play was directed By Doreen Willgoss. To at least equal the fire- works being sent up by our American neighbours on the 4th of July, the Golden Horseshoe Theatre wIll be presenting yet another Edith Jr- and Nichoils concoction, "Highnoon for Studels", performed by the Simcoe Little Theatre. This story of a French-type detective, who make Clouseau look like^ a suave intelectual, is funny, differ- ent and offers a brilliant performance by David Peach as the master crime fighter - Strudels De Pum. Ian Noble plays the milkman Joyce Armstrong Inspector Ridge, Kim Maxwell.Police- ornan Jenkins and Walter Korte plays both the Devil d Slagheap Magillicutty.
