The agreement was reached at a meeting last Wednesday in Brooklin. If the munficipalities agree to the request from this meeting, a region-wide study team will help co-ordinate the local efforts and the results will be presented to Ontario Energy, Minister Ruben Baetz. Another meeting of the steering committee will be held in three weeks, to examine the feelings of the local municipalities and PUCs about restructuring of their local commissions. A meeting was held in May in Port Perry with the Energy Minister to explore the possibility of restruc- turing Durham Region's Public Utilities Corn- missions. Earlier in the year, the Durhami Region Municipal Electric Association re- jected a region-wide study of restructuring and set up the steering committee to hear local problenis and discuss changes to the commissions.
