JuIy 28 at 8 p.m. at Brooklin Memorial Park there will ýbe a celebrity basebail game between the Brooklln and District Kins- men Club and the CKLB Athletic Supporters. Aug. 3 at 8 p.m. the lnoyal Canadian Legion will hold its annual dress-up softball game at Centennial Park. BARBEQIJE Two dances, a beef barbe- que and a Las Vegas Night are events planned for this year's County Town Carni- val by the Whitby Kiwanis Club. Aug. 4 from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. there will be theannual beef barbeque at Heyden- shore Pavilion, followed by a dance. Aug. 5 from 8:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. there will be the Las Vegas Night and dance, also at Heydenshore Pavilion. Tickets are available in advance from Kiwanis members, or at the door on the nights of these events. 1The Kiwanis Club has held its events at Heydenshore Park for several years, the park being a development projet for the club. In the past years picnic shelters, play equipment, and a patio and benches at Heydenshore Pavilion have been installed by the Kiwanis Club. WH[ITBY 'ARTS Whitby Arts' Station Gallery at Victoria and Henry Streets will be a busy spot during the County Town Carnival. July 29 fromn 8:30 p.m, toi1 a.m. Whitby Arts will be holding its annual Las Vegas Night at the Station. Admis- sion is $1, restricted to age 18 and over. Aug. 5 and 6 from noon to 5 p.m., Whitby Arts is holding its Fifth Annual Outdoor Arts Fair, with area artists displaying and selling arts and crafts. Refreshments will be served on the lawn at the station. Throughout the County Town CArnival, the Station wilI be holding open house from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The annual juried and non-juried mnemfbers' exhibition will be featured. July 29 and 30 the exhibition will be open only froni 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Aug. 5 it will be open from noon to 5 p.m. 1The dates of the Open House are July 29 -until Aug. 5 and 6, the dates of the Outdoor Arts ýFair. CAIR RALLY Drivers are invited to take part again this year in the Whitby County Town. Carni- val Novice Class Car Rally. The rallv wiIl start and finish at &h Iroquois Park parking lot, with registra- tions being taken on the spot at the event. Entry forms are available in advance by cal- ling 655-452ý. The rally starts at 10 a.m. Aug. 6 and. will cover a 60-mile route in approxi- mately two hours. There will be various checkpoints throughout the rally, and drivers will be given instruc- tions when they enter. TRADE FAIR This year the Whitby County Town, Carniva4,. salutes the golden anniver- sary of the Whitby Chamber of Commerce, and again the Chamnber is offering its annual trade fair in the Iroquois Park Arena. The trade fair is open from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. July ".1. Aug. 1, and Aug. 2, with i" opadmission. in past years there wil a number of special attractions each night ir addition to the 30 booths showing off the produce and services of Whitby businesses and organizations July 31 from 6:30 p.m. to 10: 30 p.m . therç will be a dog obedience show by the Oshawa Ubedience Associa- tion. In addition, from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. there will be a Karate demonstration sponsored by the Durham Region Family YMCA. Aug. 1 there will be the :înnual pet and mutt show for , lie children at the trade fair, .ild at 7:30 p.m. the YMCA 111l hold its tricycle decorat- itng and bike relay contests. Aug. 2, visitors to the trade I air will be entertained by 1 lie music of the Whitby lirass Band. In this 5th year of service by the Whitby Chamber of Commerce, the trade fair stands out as a prime example of the Chamber's function to promote the business community of Whitby.
