Tomn Scheeffer, Bobby Sherman and Carmelo Scaffidi. Goalie Ed Svetek got the shut-out. The game was abandoned at haîf-time because of lighten- ing and torrential rain. Next home game is Aug. 29 against Oshawa. JUNIOR Aug. 14 at Westshore, 'Whitby Ferrco Engineering defeated Westshore 5-2 with two goals by Pauli Hunt and one each by John Longmuir, Alistar Clark and Jim Reid. Both teams were short of players and because of the oppressive heat the game was shortened to two 35- minute halves. Whitby were 3-0 up after only 13 minutes, but slackened off to allow West- shore to narrow the gap to 3-2. Jim Reid made it 4-2 before halftime. In the second haif, Whitby did al the attacking but could only corne up with one more goal. BANTAM Aug. 16 at Peel Park, Whitby. Carreto Restaurant andTavern trounced Ajax 7-1 with three goals by George Rossier, two by Rich Greaves and one each by Warren Subject and Mike Kaoke. It was a close game until haîf-time. Whitby scored first but Ajax tied it up on a penalty kick. At the intervai it was 2-1 for Whitby. In the second haîf it was all Whitby as the forwards connected on five unanswered goals. The next home game is Aug. 30 at Peel Park at 8 p.m. against Peterboro. OSHAWA AND DISTRICT MOSQUITO Aug. 10, at Annes Street Park, Whitby Crown indus- trials tied Oshawa Rangers 1-1 with Victor Refalo scoring the only Whitby goal. Whitby scored in the first 2-0 wil liaif and held a 1-0 edge going MussE into the second half. It was a Mus good even game with clever. goals soccer for the young age goals group. In the third game played in Whitby the Dunedins lost by a seven to six score in ten innings, a really tough game to lose, however the tèam had a successful seasonal record -and played some excellent basebaîl. PEE WEE Whitby Legion Pee-Wee Ail-Stars and Belleville played a best of three series and again Whitby came out short losing both games to Belleville, the first by a five to four score and the second eight to four. During regular season play Whitby defeated Belle- ville on both occasions, how- ever holidays had a"serious effect on the home club. Whitby Legionnaires only lost three games 'ail season however when piay-offs rol around the competition gets tougher. Again thanks goes out to the Whitby Legion for sponsoring the team, as weli as coaches and ail others who assisted. BANTAM Hooker Chev-Olds Bantam Ahl-Stars aiso- ended the season in quick order as they were eliminated in two games by Cobourg. The first game saw Whitby defcated by a close 3 to 1 score, and the second game Cobourg aiso won by a 9 to 4 score. TYKE Attersley Tire Tyke Ail- Stars are carrying the Whitby banner solely at this stage as they played Bow- manville in their first game on Aug. 16 and were winners of the first gaiWe in a two out of three series by an il to 1 score.
