A total of 19 students nmost1y frorn the Whitby- Oshawa area, took part in the Experience '78 programn which operated at the hospital frorn the middle of June and finishes on Sept. 1, The students participated in a variety -of duites so'they, obtained experience in rnost of the hospital's departm- enta. * They'assisted nurses on the medical geriatric units, fed patients, operated recreational progra^ms, assisted in the wàlking'pro- gram for pbhysiotherkpy, assisted the grounds'crew in its work, and worked in the j laundry, dietary, housekeep- ing, canteen, workshops and pub ic rielaàtifo'n s departments. Each .student worked .a short time' in' each'depart- ment, under the direction of co-ordinator Kay Wikholm , a memnber of the hospital's recreation staff. Town of Whitby' new D'ep. Clerk Effective, August 14, 1978, Donald G. McKay was appointed Deputy Clerk for the Town of Whitby. Mr. McKay was employed by-the Township of Oro, near Barrie, for a period of five years- as Deputy Clerk- Treasurer.
