The first game in Whitby was a backbreaker as Whitby came out on the short end of a 14 to il score. Whitby then travelled to Collingwood and with just one pitcher for this sertes lost this one 13 to 3. Whitby's other pitcher was unable to pitch because of armn probiems encountered during the Fort Erie series. Dupont wins the "B" championship in two straight gaines, hoWever as the score indi cates this was an excel- lent series with both games only one run apart. PEE-WEE BOUSE LEAGUE PLAY-OFFS Semi-Finai Action Red Wing Orchards and Consumers Gas met in atývo out of three sertes in what has turned out so far to be t he most. hotlv contested series and the scores are indicative of that. lst game Consumers Gas 8 Red Wing 7. 2nd game, Consumers Gas 13 RIed Wing 12. Winning pitcher of both games was Grcg Ellis. Tlhe other sertes saw Silver Bros. 15 Dodd and Souter 6, Consumers Gas wins Pee W'ee final l),odd and Souter 1. Winning pitcher of this series was Brian Grylls and top hitter was Terry James. The Whithy Minor Base- bail Association Pee Wee House League...finais were played at Peel Park Sept. 23 and 24, with Consumers Gas battling Silver Brothers for the championship. Scores were Consdmers Gas over Silver Brothers 3-2 ini the first game and 7-5 in the second game. The first game was an excellent ýdispIay of exciting basebaîl. Pitching on both sides was of al-star quality. Greg Eilis of Consumers Gas threw an excellent game, walking only four, while Brian Grylîs of Silver Brothers threw a supurb gaine, walking only one with three strikeouts. The pitching quaiity remnained good throughout the second game with Greg continuing to keep the bal low, forcing Silvers to consistently ground out. Brian, as well, maintained pace with only one walk and six strikeouts. The fielding excelled as weli on both sides with particular mention 1to. both shortstops, Ronnie O'Keefe for Consumfers and Johnl McKeivey of Silvers. The games were 'only decided at the last liojr, as each team remained close in score at aIl times. Congratulations' go out -to Consumers for a weli-played game and to Silver Brothers, who in spite of a 20-point' spread, showed terrific spirit and determination. Soccer Juniors shut out Oshawa
