Historie ai Whitby a HEBRON CTLLRCH (Part One) This week we depart from our current series on Whitby industries to take note of the 25th anniversary of the Hebron Christian Reformed Church Iocated at 30 ElizÉabeth Crescent. This church was founded on Feb'. 13, 1954 by the emerging community of Dutch immigrants in Whitby, and in the past 25 years two sister churches have been established in Oshawa and Port Perry.1 Through the courtesy of Fred Wind, chairman 0f the Church's anniversary committee, we were supplied with a history of the Hebron Christian Reformed Church in Whitby, which we print in our "Historical Whitby Column,", this week. Local people will, model garments for the family made by two Ashburn women, Susan Rigby and Barbara Porter. Susan and Barbara began their ,garment business by 'making clothing for people in the Ashburn area. The response was good and they have decided to expand. The clothing is'made for you personally, in any style you wish. A Hunters' Safety Course will be held on February 26 and 27 in Brooklin. The registration fee is $15. You must register and pay prior to taking the course. This would be done the very next Sunday. The organization of a Sunday School was discussed and three teachers, Inez Benschop, Ali Flini and Femmy Pols were appointed. It's time once again to take entrants for the Miss Brookl in Spring Fair Pageant to be held the first weekend in June at the Fair. Last year's winner received lovely prizes and this year. promises to offer equally nice gifts. Unfortunately the mee ting was not well attended. I have learned fromn my attendance at the general meetings that there is much more involved in presenting the Fair than I ever expected, and manpower is definately lacking.
