For an appreciative Lions memiber seeks office The Whitby Lions Club is entering a busy spring season with a number of projecta on the go. Past-President Bill Sori- chetti is running for Zone Chairman and mernbers of the club are soliciting sup- port for his election at meet- ings of other Lions Clubs in the zone. The Whitby Lions Club has voted to allocate $300 to sponsor a youth group from the United States when they visit Whitby on their way to perform at a Montreal co- nvention. The club has also voted to donate $25 to the District A16 Effective Speaking Contest, and $140 to sponsor two youths in the District Youth Exchange program. The club has also agreed to donate $300 to the Leader Dog Programme as part of its work with the blind. On March 31 the Whitby Lions Club will be holding its 'shopping spree draw at the Miracle Mart at Dundas and Frances Streets.
