The proprietors of the business, John and Ann Wiggers started their com- pany in 1967 with 550 square feet and it was their intention to find enough business to make a reasonable living at the furniture trade, which Mr. Wiggers had learned in Holland. In the fall of 1968, the Wiggers family hired Art Welton originally for two weeks, and after more than 10 years he is still with them. In 1969 the family business expanded to 2,000 square feet, and in 1978, it increased to 5,500 square feet. It pre- sently employs seven full- time and three part-time people. The new facilities at Garden Street include a showroom with quality furni- ture which was made on the premises or by other Cana- dian manufacturers. All the furniture is made of solid wood veneers, and since the business has all facilities of manufacturing and refinishing is on the site, Wiggeis Custom Furniture can make or alter any piece of furniture, inclhding finish- ing and color to its custo- mers' personal needs. The company also has materials and furniture hardware and finishing products available for any person who would like to make their own furniture. re business expands The furniture that is made on and has a family of three the premises ' is also-avail- sons. If you have visitors coming to your door in pairs do not worry as they are the enu- merators coming to make sure that your name and all members of the household of voting age are on the voters' list. If only one person without identification asks about the number of the eligible voters in a household, beware it is not a legal enumerator as the enumerators must be in pairs. They will be asking two questions this year. They are: are you a Canadian Citizen and are you 18 years of age and over? The voting age is 18 years. The enumerators will call back if there is no one at home when they first make their rounds. The householder and eligible voter will know that the enumerators have been to the residence as there will be a "call back slip" left at the door stating that the enumerators will be return- ing at a certain time in order to make sure that the eligible voters names are placed on the voters' list. If by chance you have been overlooked by the enumera- tors and are 18 years and over and a Canadian Citizen Beatles' films are on April6 Two Beatles films will be shown at the Whitby Public Library in April, each start- ing at 7 p.m. April 6, "Yellow Submarine" will be shown and April 20 there will be the "Magical Mystery Tour." you have until May 4 to have • your name placed on the revised voters' list.
