Celebrating 30 years in littie theatre, Mr. Heaver was overwhelmed when the "envelope" was opened and master of cere- monies Dan MacLean, of C.H.C.H. TV called out the naine of the winner. Mr. MacLean is host of Channel 11, New Faces, and Mid-day. Best actor award went to Jim Cheyne fo r his portrayal of the aspiring company pre- sident who's been kicked upetairs tokeep him away from the decision-making process, in the play "'View from the Sixty-Fourth Floor." >Mr. Cheyne bas directed and appeared in many Oshawa and Whitby produc- tions. Mr. -NCheyne's cc-star, Mary-Ellen Soltys won the award for Best Actress,' tying with Oshawa's Julie' Brierly who is presently attending the American Aca- demiy of Dramatic Art. Mary Ellen Soltys is a graduate of Windsor School of Drama, -and has also appeared in a number of -productions in Oshawa and Whitby.
